accordance – therapies for growth and balance

psychotherapy

a transpersonal approach to psychotherapy

at the core of the transpersonal approach is the understanding that as human beings we are capable of making a meaningful relationship with suffering and that we have the capacity to enter states of awareness beyond the everyday consciousness of personality.  It values the integration of body, mind and spirit, using relaxation, visualisation and creative imagery as well as words, and provides a safe and empowering environment for people to explore both difficult areas of their lives and their own wider potential.  Therapist and client together learn to listen to and value the voice of the heart as well as the voice of the head and find an appropriate balance between them.  They look at the whys and wherefores of troubling issues; these, like the rocks among the roots of the tree on the right, inhibit growth.
